We’re different because we’re golf photographers first. We don’t do other sporting event photography. We play the game (though not very well) and we understand it. We know where the best pictures are to be taken, where the deep bunkers are (great sandy shots from there). Sometimes the signature holes are not the best to photograph – imagine looking back down at the tee of the signature hole at your club once you have left the tee box – is that the best view on the golf course? That’s the way we face to take the great majority of our pictures. We drive the course before the off and make sure we know the best places for photographing – and then ensure we catch every team as they pass.
Fairway Photography is run by Richard Corbett. Richard has shot on the European Tour and the PGA Europro Tour - he is the official photographer for the International Pairs, the world’s largest amateur golf tournament of it’s kind. His work has appeared in local and national papers and specialist magazines.
“Golf photography combines two great passions of mine – frankly I am far better at one than the other, so until I can turn pro-golfer and make a living at it with a handicap of 18 then I’ll stick to photographing people who can play the game, and perhaps others who cannot, but are still having a good time on a corporate golf day.”
“I was lucky enough to attend many golf days when I worked in the large corporate world – I always enjoyed them and often walked away with a pleasant team photograph memento of the day. With Fairway Photography I want to take the experience to a new level – introduce a bit of fun into the evening’s activities and take pictures that the average golfer might just be tempted to put in a frame on the wall rather than in the bottom drawer”
